| Posted: Our client, a progressive and forward-looking financial institution, wishes to hire a Legal Head on contract basis. Profile: - Assist top management in complying with all relevant external laws & regulations and internal codes and policies. - Provide precise and practical counsel and advice to management on any legal and regulatory developments. - Review legal documents, especially in the areas of Finance, Asset Management, and Recovery. - Manage the legal aspects of the Company's transactions and the preparation of reports and statements of a legal nature, and where appropriate, review and advise on contracts to be entered into by the Company. - Develop legal and compliance infrastructure such as documentation standardization, legal review, approval procedures and compliance rules to support our new product initiatives of various business units. - Monitor, review and, where necessary, design and assist in the implementation of the Company's compliance programs and recommend appropriate improvement actions from a legal point of view. - Coordinate and liaise with the Company's external legal advisors, regulators, auditors and other third parties as appropriate. - Ensure maximum protection of the Company's legal rights, utilizing broad familiarity with most major legal disciplines. Position Requirements: - Holder of LLM degree or equivalent, preferably a qualified solicitor or barrister. - 6-10 years solid post qualification experience. - Thorough knowledge of company ordinance, financial and recovery ordinances, and listing rules. - Legally sound and commercially minded. - Strong leadership and excellent interpersonal, communication, analytical, advisory skills. - Can work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. - Speak and write excellent English.
