Principal Engineer-Water and Waste Water (Islamabad)

We currently have vacancy in the water sector where we are working on large projects in the local and international markets. Principal Engineer- Water and Waste Water ESSENTIAL: 1. Total of 15 years experience with at least 10 years with reputable consultancy firms. 2. Experience of working in computer aided design environment with practical knowledge and experience of current industry standard software used in urban drainage and water supply design. 3. Experience of hydraulic design and sizing of medium to large sized urban drainage and water supply networks. 4. Experience of hydraulic design and sizing of drainage and water supply pumping stations, rising mains including design and specifications for surge protection equipment. 5. Knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes and their application 6. Ability to read, understand, interpret, prepare or amend technical specifications. 7. Practical hands-on knowledge of relevant construction and O&M issues and their solutions 8. Ability to prepare and present concise technical notes and reports. 9. Ability to understand, prepare and apply design standards and criteria of/for municipalities and other international institutions. DESIRABLE: 1. International experience of working with a municipality or reputed international consultancy firm. 2. Preparation of tender documents 3. Practical knowledge of contract conditions e.g. FIDIC red and/or yellow books) 4. Managing the project team and project budget. Personal Characteristics: 1. Proactive and self-motivated; a confident decision-maker. 2. Ability to perform under pressure and solve unforeseen problems 3. Well developed interpersonal and team skills and proven ability to be flexible in demanding situations. 4. Strong analytical skills. 5. Seeking continual improvement and applying and/or adding to technical knowledge EDUCATION: 1. A first class bachelors degree in Civil Engineering 2. Master degree or other post graduate qualifications in the fields of public health engineering/sanitary engineering will be an added advantage. The incumbent shall be based in Islamabad with possible national/international deployment. Competence in written and verbal communication is considered necessary pre-requisites.
