LABORATORY TECHNICIAN Mechanical Engineering THE PETROLEUM INSTITUTE The Mechanical Engineering Department of The Petroleum Institute of Abu Dhabi has an opening for a Laboratory Technician. The successful candidate will primarily assist with the maintenance and operation of a production/fabrication facility. The successful candidate should also have proven practical and theoretical knowledge of welding techniques. He/she may also be involved in maintaining equipment for research projects. Responsibilities: Assisting with or leading laboratory practical sessions including HSE issues; conducting practical and theory classes in the use of hand tools and simple drilling/grinding equipment; running theory sessions in the fabrication of projects. Qualifications/required skills: Candidates must have completed a four year apprenticeship in the Mechanical/Production engineering field and can provide written evidence. The successful candidate must have strong oral and written communication skills in English. Other factors include experience conducting lab practicals; skill in computers; skilled in the use of mechanical equipment; strong interpersonal skills; independent worker; organized; team player.
