Job Description:
Object Synergy immediately requires highly talented and experienced System Administrator with good communication skills and a proven track record in System Administration.
This Job is specifically for Linux/Unix System Administrators with extra ordinary skills in managing Linux/Unix based environments.
Major Responsibilities
Development and implementation of technical solutions to meet business requirements
Design and implement highly available fault tolerant systems to run mission-critical applications.
Assist the analysis of high availability requirements, technology improvement opportunities and IT operational improvements
Research emerging technologies in support of current and anticipated customer needs
Collaborate with the data/applications, engineer/architect and other team members to identify potential improvements to current technology and business processes
Skills Required:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Expert level experience in administering Linux/Unix platforms for production environments
Knowledge of installing, configuring and optimizing databases like MySQL, Cassandra, Dynamo and BigTable
Knowledge of working of web servers like Apache, IIS and others
Experience in performance analysis, tuning and troubleshooting of Linux/Unix
Experience in integrating Linux into Windows Based environments
Knowledge of using Linux in High-Availability environments
Data center experience running Novell/SuSE SLES9 or Red HatEnterprise grade Linux.
Knowledge of and ability to write scripts in bash and Perl to automate administration tasks
Experience with installing and configuring different development environments like LAMP, ROR with Apache using passenger and Java using Apache with Tomcat
Experience with installing and configuring VMware ESX or Virtual infrastructure servers
Experience installing and configuring Windows 2003/2008 servers
Experience with SAMBA v3 and Active Directory integration
Understanding of network security, encryption tools, etc. (SSH, VPN)
Automated deployment and management of Linux systems
Performance and Capacity monitoring ( Nagios, ntop, etc)
Good knowledge of Networking technologies (from systems perspective), Ethernet, TCP/IP, multicast.
Infiniband (IB verbs) an added plus, vlan tagging, RDMA, etc
