Chief Economist plays a pivotal role in devising economic plans, strategies, and to review the overall economic and development situation. He is also Member of the Planning Commission and reports directly to the Chairman of the Planning Commission. Planning Commission requires the services of a professional (Pakistani National) of International standing for appointment as Chief Economist. National Programme Officer (Drinking Water) (Islamabad)

SDC is looking for a National Programme Officer (Drinking Water) to assist the SDC/Humanitarian Aid (HA) Water Expert in the formulation, implementation and monitoring of the Humanitarian Aid Program in Pakistan related to water within the overall strategic framework of the SDC new Cooperation Strategy. The NPO will be attached to the Swiss Cooperation Office-Pakistan (SCO-P) in Islamabad and will be directly responsible to the SDC/HA Water Expert. The NPO will be attributed a number of bilateral or multilateral projects for which s/he will assume, independently or in line with the water expert, the responsibility of the whole project management process. Requirements: - Masters degree from an accredited educational institution in Civil Engineering or other related science. - Minimum 5 years of working experience in drinking water in a similar function for a donor agency or experience working for the Pakistani Government and/or provincial authorities. - Thorough knowledge of and work experience with results-based project cycle management (planning, monitoring and evaluation) including logical frameworks. - Able to work independently and to take on responsibility. - Ability to supervise, support and lead the national project team. - Excellent command of spoken and written English, ability to prepare concise documents, adequate for the target audience. - Excellent computer skills in word processing, data spreadsheets and presentation software. - Networking, negotiation and communication skills are an essential requirement. - Demonstrate ability to analyze, conceptualize and monitor programs. - Quick apprehension of matters, readiness to acquire new knowledge and skills, to learn from others and share own experiences in a multicultural team. - Work experience for provincial authorities of KPK/Fata is a distinct advantage.
