Sr. Team Manager-Infant Nutrition (Jeddah)

Key Role: To manage a self directing, multi-functional team in the manufacture and packaging of infant formula products while maintaining internal and regulatory standards and continuously improving production efficiencies in a safe manner. Activities: - Effectively monitor and motivate team, facilitate, support and direct Team Leaders & Team to undertake tasks to achieve defined and measurable performance parameters and develop flexibility within team ensuring all disciplines are carried out properly. - Develop the understanding of team concept and empowerment with the teams continuously improving focus on tasks and results. - Discuss and finalize plans/s with Production Management. Allocate tasks to Team Members, according to their talent and skill and provide adequate resources for their achievement. - Identify problems before they affect production deadlines and thus improve flexibility in production - Conduct meetings/s and reviews with team members developing trust and loyalty with the team. Initiate briefings with the Production Manager regarding individual or group behavior on regular basis. - Ensure full implementation of defined and laid down safety systems and safe practices of work, continually upgrading safety awareness and practices within the team. Ensure all activities are covered by Risk assessment program within the department. - Ensure GMP, include hygiene and housekeeping is maintained and improved within the team and that all operations are conducted within the specified quality standards and parameters. - Develop an understanding and knowledge of the processing equipment and all relevant tasks required to be carried out by the team. - Liaise with Production planning team to optimize production schedules and to minimize utilities consumption and product wastage. - Liaise with Process Maintenance / Automation team through maintenance requests and non conformance notes with regard to performance of instrumentation/ material handling equipments. - Monitor the calibration and performance of key instruments around critical control points, and take any action required to ensure compliance. - Ensure that all operational inspections and maintenance is carried out as specified. - Liaise with supply team to ensure all raw materials are delivered in a timely and efficient manner. Liaise with planning and filling areas to optimize production runs and minimize loss of packing time. - Collate information and provide reports on process results and suggest improvements. - Plan team's rest day and holiday relief. - Ensure that budgetary controls are followed with respect to all resources. - Focus on resource management and cost awareness of milk and ingredients - Ensure all procedures for CIP's are implemented at correct time intervals. - Ensure that all duties are carried out in accordance with standard operating procedures specified in the Quality System. Review and update of Standard Operating Procedures based on Quality audits and new developments where it necessary. - Develop on –the – job training for the team through regular training cycle. - Recommend process modification to improve quality and service at reduced cost. - Review and prepare Daily/y/ Monthly reports. - Ensure SAP activities are carried out timely manner. QUALIFICATION: Essential - Graduate in dairy / food technology - Knowledge in Fast Moving Consumer Goods industry - Computer literacy (MS Office applications) EXPERIENCE: Essential Responsibilities - 5 years experience in powdered infant formula manufacturing and packing. - At least 2 years experience at supervisory level reporting to plant manager. - Working knowledge of ISO9000 / ISO 22000 quality standards. - Thorough knowledge and understanding of pasteurization, evaporation, drying, blending and packing. - Experience in operating fully automated dairy plants. - With knowledge with world class manufacturing practices.
