A well-established shipping company'in Abu Dhabi, due to the ongoing fleet expansion programme, invites dynamic individuals with excellent track record and qualifications to apply for the following post: Commercial Manager Purpose of the Role: - Strategise, develop and manage fleet commercial activities to ensure maximum potential earnings in the most cost effective manner to realise the targeted revenues. Key Accountabilities: - Develop and recommend on vessel employment strategies and plan to maximise potential earnings and business targets through the effective vessel utilization. - Manage, execute and deliver customer service by adhering to charter party terms and conditions and, at the ' same time, being sensitive to charterers' other needs and expectations. - Undertake commercial risks and analysis studies including prudent risk profiling of various trades and making recommendations on the exposure probability to safeguard interests and image. - Keep abreast on the latest market / industry developments on the freight rates, period charter rates, tonnage supply / demand and competitors' movements. - Knowledgeable in different types of cargoes, their shipping patterns as well as good understanding on vessels' specifications which facilitates effective matching of available cargoes to tonnage. - Attend promptly to contracts administration and post-fixture matters. - Provide market intelligence, updates and industry changes to the management. - Explore new business opportunities for the fleet, i.e., new trading areas or retain and expand the existing customer base 1 business. - Prepare monthly / quarterly / yearly commercial performance reports, on fleet / service performance to compare actual against budget in terms of revenue earned, utilisation of vessels and cost structures to the management for informed decision making. - Develop, motivate, coach and train subordinates to achieve high productivity in meeting the commercial department's goals and objectives. Ideal Candidate's Profile: - Degree in Marketing / Business Studies / Economics / Commerce or relevant marine qualification. - At least five years experience in the marine / shipping:related business activities, with emphasis on commercial and operations. - Sound knowledge of the shipping industry and of the business and operational Environments. - Analytical in thinking. - Good problem solving and negotiation skills. - Excellent organization, strong communication skills and a team spirit. - Good in rapport / relationship building. - Able to strategically plan and see through the implementation processes.
