Parsons Brinckerhoff is an International Engineering Consultancy and we are currently looking to appoint candidates for the following positions for our ongoing project in KUWAIT: Highway Design Engineer - Job Ref.: HWK001 The position will require you to perform highway design work involving complex grade separated interchanges and develop concept solutions for the improvement of highways. The preferred candidate will have a command of relevant AASHTO standards for the design of highways including roadside facilities, at-grade intersections including roundabouts and other classifications of roadways including grading plans with good knowledge of using MX roads highway design software. You will be involved in assisting in the preparation of tender documents including particular specifications. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Civil-Engineering, 5 to 8 years of highway design experience and exposure to working in the GCC countries. Guide and lead a small team of junior site engineers and inspectors, assist in the review of shop drawings and prepare daily reports. In addition to an internationally recognized Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, the candidate should have, as a minimum, 7 years experience in construction supervision/ management of highway related structures and 3 years experience in the GCC countries. Along with strong leadership and motivation skills, you should have good communication skills, particularly written English. Knowledge of Arabic will be an advantage. You must possess 15 years of design experience in drainage network, design of roadways and sanitary network and associated utilities for road projects in accordance with the UK or USA standards. Along with experience in project management, you will also need at least two years of proposal writing exposure and the ability to manage mid-sized projects. You will need good communication and people handling skills. The ideal candidate will have a BSc in Civil Engineering, preferably with PE (USA) or CEng (UK), and 15 years of relevant experience.
